The Angus Sports Council has been in existence since 1986 with the aim of promoting and developing sporting opportunities in Angus. We act as a co-ordinating link between local sports clubs and the leisure providers at local, regional and national level. In particular we want to put forward the views of YOU, the local sportsperson or club. We need YOUR help and support to achieve this. So who are the Angus Sports Council? We are a group of people including:
Angus Sports Council is itself affiliated to the Scottish Association of Local Sports Councils (S.A.L.S.C.), a national body representing over 50 areas throughout Scotland. A powerful local Sports Council is an asset to any area. So get more for your sport in Angus and join us now by completing the affiliation form which is available to download here. Why Affiliate? Affiliation to Angus Sports Council allows your club or association to become part of an Angus wide organisation dedicated to promoting and supporting the interests of local sports people. Being an affiliated member of this organisation gives the following benefits: Regular mailings with the latest information on:
Grant Assistance for coach education, events, development initiatives and start up grants for new clubs. Eligibility to apply for grant assistance through the Angus Council Grant Aid Scheme to the Voluntary/Community Sector. Eligibility for the club concession rate for Angus Council sport centres and swimming pools. Transportation discount with G & N Wishart.
